About Me

Polymer clay jewellery made slowly, in a small UK home studio.

Hi, I’m Karina – Polish-born, UK-based, mum, and the maker behind ClayByKM.

Welcome to my little corner of the internet. I’m so glad you’re here.

-My story-

I grew up in Poland and moved to the UK over 10 years ago, where I now live with my family in Northamptonshire. ClayByKM began quietly – during a season of change, when I was becoming a mum, settling into a new country, and looking for something that felt entirely my own.

What started as a few earrings made at the kitchen table slowly grew into a small handmade studio. Every piece I create is shaped, sanded, and assembled by hand from polymer clay – a material I fell in love with for its colour, softness, and endless possibilities.

Two things shape my work more than anything else: motherhood and travel.

My son reminds me every day to slow down and notice the small, joyful things – a wildflower on a walk, a tomato from the garden, a tiny detail on a stone bridge. And our weekends exploring the UK as a family – the soft golden stone of the Cotswolds, misty mornings in the Lake District, the chalk cliffs of the Dorset coast – quietly find their way into my colour palettes and collections.

I believe in slow creation. I embrace the little imperfections that make handmade pieces truly one-of-a-kind. My jewellery is made for people who love detail, story, and the feeling of wearing something that was made by a real person, with real care.

-Where inspiration comes from-

Most of my collections begin somewhere outside the studio – on a walk, in nature or spent with my family.

The best view to recharge my batteries. Nothing resets me like nature and a long walk.

There’s nothing like an English village in autumn. It’s my favourite season – always has been.

Our family travels remind me to slow down – and to find joy in the small, everyday moments.

-In my studio-

This is where it all begins – at my desk. I love what I do. Here, order and beautiful chaos live side by side.

The best part of my ‘office’? No two days are the same – and I often have my best assistant helping me pick the prettiest stickers.

I love organising – every earring, every tiny component has its own little spot. (Yes, I’m that person.)

Behind every pair of earrings: hours of mixing colours, testing ideas, and sketching on paper.

-How I pack your order-

When your order arrives, I want it to feel like opening a little gift – because that’s exactly what it is. Every piece is wrapped in tissue, slipped into a cotton pouch stamped with my logo. I write a short thank-you note by hand for every single order. It’s a slow process-but that’s exactly what makes it special. How it arrives matters to me just as much as what’s inside.

Tiny touches matter. Each pair gets its own pouch, its own card, its own little send-off.

Every single order gets a handwritten note. Not a printed one – a real one, with your name on it. It’s my way of saying thank you for supporting my little dream.

Every order leaves my desk like this – wrapped, stamped, and ready to make someone’s day.

-Crafting Tiny Stories Together-

ClayByKM is more than a shop – it’s a small, family-run studio where every piece is made slowly, with love. When you choose handmade, you choose a story. Thank you for letting me share mine with you.

With love, Karina
